Tyara works with older teens and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, family conflict or going through difficult life transitions. As a first-generation, Caribbean-American, and Black woman, Tyara understands the importance of offering individualized and culturally-sensitive therapy. She believes her clients’ stories are created by a complex mixture of cultural, economic, racial, ethnic, and sexual relationships with themselves and the world. She works with her clients to explore these relationships and acknowledge the difficulties of balancing external conditions with personal needs.
Tyara offers compassionate and thoughtful therapy and uses person-centered, relational-cultural, and psychodynamic modalities. She honors the strength it takes to seek self-understanding and commits to creating a safe, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space for her clients.
